Using the map

How to find a Tennessee fishing spot on the map

Pick a fish

Choose a species and the map keeps only the spots on water known to hold it: smallmouth on the Tennessee River lakes, walleye on Norris and Center Hill, trout below the dams.

Pick a lake

Choose one of 79 named lakes and rivers and the map zooms to every public ramp and pier on it, across every county it touches.

Center on me

Your browser asks to share your location, the map moves to you, and the twelve closest spots and shops are listed underneath with distances. The measuring happens on your own device.

Tap a pin

Each pin opens the name, the water, whether there is a ramp or a pier, and links to that spot’s own page and to driving directions.

Common questions

Tennessee fishing map questions

Where do the pins come from?

The 998 access points come from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s access site database: 741 with a boat ramp and 119 with a fishing pier. The shops were researched county by county. The map itself is OpenStreetMap.

Is every spot on the map free to use?

Most are. Some ramps run by marinas, parks or the Corps charge a launch fee, and the pin says so where the record shows it. Tennessee still requires a fishing licence at every one of them.

Can I launch a boat at every pin?

No. Use the filters: turn off bank and paddle access and the map shows only spots with a boat ramp. Piers and bank access are good for fishing from shore and for kayaks.

Does the map track my location?

No. Center on me only works when you press it, your browser asks first, and the distance measuring happens on your own device. Nothing about your location is sent to this site.

Can I see the spots for one county or town?

Yes. Every county fishing spots page and every town page has its own map of just those spots, along with the full written list.
